Hero MotoCorp sales rise 5% to 512,360 units, decline for Hyundai in Aug

Hero MotoCorp reported a 5% year-on-year increase in wholesales, reaching 512,360 units in August. This compares to 488,717 units dispatched in August 2023.

Domestic sales rose to 492,263 units last month, up from 472,947 units in the same period last year. The company noted that August’s sales were slightly affected by supply shortages, which are expected to be resolved in September.

Exports also grew to 20,097 units, up from 15,770 units in August 2023.

Hero MotoCorp is preparing for the festive season, anticipating strong growth driven by a recovery in the rural market, expansion in the 125cc segment, new scooter launches, and significant investment in power brands.

In a related update, Hyundai Motor India announced a 12% year-on-year increase in total sales, with 63,175 units sold in August. The automaker sold 71,435 units in August 2023.

However, domestic dispatches fell 8% to 49,525 units from 53,830 units a year ago, while exports decreased by 22% to 13,650 units from 17,605 unitsyear-ago period.
