Protege, a New York City-based platform provider specializing in AI training data, has raised $10 million in Seed funding. The investment round was led by CRV, with participation from SV Angel, Liquid 2 Ventures, Bloomberg Beta, Flex Capital, Adam D’Angelo, Travis May, and others.

Founded by Samuels and Travis May—CEO of Shaper Capital and co-founder/former CEO of LiveRamp and Datavant—Protege offers a platform that facilitates compliant data exchange, connecting data holders with AI developers. By focusing on high-impact data often unavailable for external use, Protege aims to foster the development of responsible and innovative AI solutions.
